Amanda Crittenden’s first volunteer experience was in high school. She started out with Meals on Wheels and has been volunteering ever since.
Name the charity and Amanda has probably been involved – Relay for Life, United Way, Bowl for Kids. Not to mention all the occasions she pitches in for bake sales and other fundraisers. She appreciates the flexibility Servus employees have to pursue volunteering opportunities that are meaningful to them.
Amanda believes she is very fortunate and that it’s important to give back in some way. “I really feel that if you’re capable of volunteering, you should find a cause you’re passionate about and help.”
For Amanda that cause is the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. “I have family members that are currently battling cancer and some that have been lost to this disease. And when I hear the stories about other people who are battling cancer, it really affects me. We need to fight back.”
