(Edmonton, Alberta) – On behalf of its members Servus Credit Union today donated $100,000 to the Red Cross Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal. Servus has also started reaching out to its members and employees who have been affected by the fire to provide support directly to them.
“Albertans come together in times like these, we stick by our neighbours, we stand shoulder to shoulder in support of those who need it,” said Servus President and Chief Executive Officer Garth Warner. “I speak for all our members and employees when I say to everyone impacted by this devastating fire: We’re with you. We’ll be here for you.”
Servus will be providing loan payment deferrals, extensions of overdrafts, and other forms of support to members, and is currently exploring additional ways to help members, employees, and everyone impacted by the fire. Servus will continue posting updates on their Facebook and Twitter pages as more details are available.
“Our profound thanks to the amazing people who are bravely and diligently doing everything they can to fight this fire,” continued Warner, “and to those helping and taking care of Albertans evacuated because of the fire. You’re a great example of why we’re so very proud to be Albertan.”
