Flying Canoë Volant

Servus is a proud sponsor of this winter festival - Flying Canoë Volant held on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3 from 6pm to midnight at the La Cité Francophone, Rutherford School and Mill Creek Ravine.

Flying Canoë Volant is a free, inclusive family winter festival celebrating First Nations, Métis and Franco cultures through education, art, music and so much more.

Loosely based on the shared legend of La Chasse Galerie, this event takes you through a recreation of the adventure as festival go-ers venture from the French Quarter to the beautiful Mill Creek Ravine.

The festival is bilingual, family focused, artistic, outdoors and community minded with inclusive free admission being at the core of our values. Illuminated trails connect patrons between La Cité Francophone, Rutherford School and Mill Creek Ravine.

In the three areas of the festival, patrons will encounter beautiful art installations, horse drawn wagon rides, Métis jigs and reels provided by the Dave Cunningham Family Band, bannock making, storytelling provided by local favorite Roger Dallaire, drumming, community conversation, food, a cabaret, winter activities, a giant snow slide and so much more!
