A healthy business community makes for a healthier community overall. That’s the philosophy that drives Douglas Lamb to volunteer his time to the community of St. Paul.
“We’re sending a message that St. Paul is a people place,” says Douglas. “We’re a community where people want to build their lives and careers.”
Douglas has been volunteering for more than 20 years...the last six in St. Paul. He has participated on several councils and been active in the St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce, including four years as its president. He is also championing the development of a new professional health centre to help attract physicians to practise in the area.
“St. Paul and area is growing,” says Douglas. “I want to do whatever I can to help my community prepare for that growth.
When Douglas moved to Alberta he knew he wanted to work in the credit union system. The cooperative spirit and community involvement are values he shares with Servus. “I really appreciate working in an environment that is so responsive to the needs of the community.”
