As a member of a dynamic Retail Branch team, the Member Service Representative (MSR) plays an integral role in the delivery of superior personalized service to our member-owners.  They facilitate a variety of member transactions and build long term relationships with members by building trust and demonstrating credibility, reliability, and integrity. MSR’s respond to member and potential member inquiries, analyze and identify needs and then present or refer the product or service which best meet those needs.

Servus Credit Union customers are member owners; therefore, our Customer Service Representatives are referred to as Member Service Representatives.

Initial employment would be on a permanent, part-time basis working 30-35 hours per week (4-5 shifts) serving in and around Edmonton as part of our Member Service Representative (MSR) Relief Pool.  Advantages to working in the relief pool include the opportunity to make an impression on different supervisors and managers, increasing your network of colleagues, and giving you the time to find a branch where you really enjoy working.  Many of Servus’ employees have started their careers as a MSR, so this entry level position is a great opportunity to start your new financial career! As this is a roving position, access to a vehicle to be mobile and flexible about transferring between branch locations within City of Edmonton and rural surrounding branches, is mandatory.

Principal Duties

  • Accurately processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, conducting other transactions and balancing your day's work.
  • Cross selling, promoting and supporting Servus Credit Union's product & service campaigns.
  • Finding innovative ways to provide outstanding service in an accurate & efficient manner.
  • Learning and applying knowledge of policies, procedures, and security guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, product promotion, and cash handling are desirable.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience retail/customer service is an asset.
  • Minimum of grade twelve (12) education is required, a Business degree, diploma or certificate is an asset.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written are required.
  • Sound knowledge and confidence using Microsoft Office, Windows based software, Outlook and the Internet are also considerable assets.
  • The availability to work at least 30-35 daytime hours, Monday through Saturday.
  • Candidates must have credit in good standing and must be bondable.
